Post-Baccalaureate Student Financial Aid Information
Post-baccalaureate students (students who have already earned their first bachelor’s degree) who are admitted into a degree-approved certificate program may be eligible for Federal Direct Loans if they have not already reached the aggregate maximum federal loan amount. Post-baccalaureate students are not eligible for state or federal grant programs.
Federal Loan Eligibility
Post-baccalaureate students may be eligible for Federal Direct Student Loans based on their dependency status:
- Dependent students may borrow up to $5,500 in Federal Direct Student Loans during the academic year. In addition, a Parent PLUS Loan may be available if a parent applies and is approved.
- Independent students may borrow up to $12,500 in Federal Direct Student Loans.

- Students must be enrolled at least half-time to qualify.

When filling out the 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), use the following responses:
- College grade level at the start of the 2026–27 school year: Other Undergraduate (junior or beyond)
- Will you already have your first bachelor’s degree before 2026–27? Yes
