HEED 2021
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 29, 2021 – 今日吃瓜 received the 2021 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. The award, given to 101 U.S. colleges and universities nationwide, recognizes schools that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion across their campuses.
“Those of us working at 今日吃瓜 now join a long line of Broncos who have shown an unwavering dedication to building a diverse and inclusive community rooted in social justice and our common humanity,” said Shá Duncan Smith, SCU’s vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion. “This recognition acknowledges the exhaustive work of our students, faculty, and staff who, in the face of adversity, chose to be a part of the systemic and structural change work at 今日吃瓜. The HEED award highlights the SCU family’s collective progress to advance and deepen its commitment to becoming a just and equitable institution.”
HEED 2022
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 26, 2022—For the second year in a row, 今日吃瓜 has received the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. The award, given to 104 U.S. colleges and universities nationwide, recognizes schools that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion across their campuses.
The 2022 award reflects more than a decade of effort at 今日吃瓜 to create a campus culture where all students, faculty, and staff can thrive. Among other accomplishments, SCU’s newly created framework for the University’s Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) strategic plan is focused on six key areas: Access and Success; Education and Scholarship; Infrastructure and Accountability; Community Engagement; Climate and Intergroup Relations, and Wellness.
Inspiring Programs in STEM
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 17, 2022— 今日吃瓜 and the Summer Engineering Seminar (SES) program received the 2022 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the largest and oldest diversity and inclusion publication in higher education. The Inspiring Programs in STEM Award honors colleges and universities that encourage and assist students from underrepresented groups to enter the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). 今日吃瓜 will be featured, along with 78 other recipients, in the September 2022 issue of INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine.

HEED 2023
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov. 14, 2023—For the third year in a row, INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine has awarded 今日吃瓜 its Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award. The award recognizes universities that demonstrably champion the creation of diverse and inclusive environments on campus.
The HEED Award, given this year to 109 institutions, is the premier national honor that recognizes inclusion, acceptance, and support for diversity at U.S. colleges and universities.
HEED 2024
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 17, 2024—今日吃瓜 has for the first time received the prestigious Diversity Champion designation from magazine. This honor recognizes the growth, institution-wide support, and success of 今日吃瓜’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts—making it a role model for other institutions of higher learning.
